Movie Reviews: Twilight the DVD/Blu-ray April 7, 2009

I love Twilight, even though it’s not well written and there are plot holes and character inconsistencies. But, isn’t that what true love is – to be able to love something so much that the flaws cease to matter?

There were a billion different DVD versions released on March 21st, but I bought the Blu-ray version from Target because it came with a free iTunes download of the movie and all the special features (movies on iPod rock!). Also, I virtually stalked the entire production of this movie, so I had already seen most of the other extra material and read about almost every scene. *sigh*

Why Twilight the DVD/Blu-ray is way better than Twilight at the movies:

  1. You can pretend Twilight went straight to video instead of being the highest grossing movie for a female director EVER.
  2. Watching the “Journey from Page to Screen” segment made me appreciate Catherine Hardwicke as a director even though the movie was a hot mess.
  3. Watching the deleted scenes made me realize that they actually did leave in the best parts…amazing.
  4. Kristen Stewart (KStew) says that she’s a bad actress and she wishes she could play someone other than herself
  5. Rob Pattinson (RPattz) makes fun of his expressions and acting throughout the entire commentary – in a critical moment, he says, “That’s not acting, I think I was really just cold – were you filming that?”
  6. Catherine said everyone’s looking older, so RPattz mentions he’s looking too old and haggard to play Edward, so Summit Entertainment should “get Efron on the phone!”
  7. The amount of times RPattz mentions his perfect man-brows makes me believe that he really does read all the celebrity gossip about himself.
  8. KStew actually understood the book and is very awkward and embarrassed most of the time – this is somehow redeeming.
  9. I know Stephenie Meyer HAS to support the movie, but I don’t think she would know a good movie if it started sparkling and then bit her in the ass nah’mean?
  10. There’s a piano concert of RPattz playing a tune he just made up for the movie in the special features section – you can call him a douchebag, but he’s a definitely a talented one.

Hello. I just watched Twilight for the first time this past Saturday. I had never read the books so I had a small idea of what it was about. Needless to say, I loved it. However, now I am over halfway through with the first book and I can see why the book lovers would have been a little disappointed in the film adaptation. Much less detail. Either way, I liked it (I watched it 3x! over this weekend) talk about delayed Twilight fever…

I never watched the movie and to be honest I dont think I will but I do have a crush on Robert. I do think he reads most of whats written about him only because he recently did an interview dismissing the bullshit. “How can I NOT shower? I would be sick by now!”

Whatever if I was a celebrity I would keep tabs on what people said about me too, not all the time though.
