(1) i can actually see the potato pancake shapes in my belly
(2) i formulate escape strategies involving ropes when mu rooms on the first floor
(3) i miss the mess in my apartment
(4) and the mosquito that haunts what would be my dreams if i could actually sleep
(5) i fantasize about using my web enabled mobile device on the bus ride home
(6) i miss brooklyn…yeah
(7) i review the catalogue of breakups and would rather go through that again than be here
(8) i have actually eaten all of my many feelings
(9) and yet i’m still unhappy. How is this possible?
(10) ahhhhh the movie knocked up. Haven’t seen this in a while. I really hate everything. Get me out of here.

the devilish combination of rapture’s outdoor seating and happy hour two-for-one specials on bottles of wine. Yes, bottles.
the folding lawn chairs I intend to get, which will allow me to sit on my roof in the sun with beer for long periods of time
the fact that this is the year of gin

life lessons from a sick day spent watching the real housewives of orange county/nyc

i was not the target market for a single commerical i saw all day
you can never be too rich, too blond, too shrieky, or too stupid
it’s called orange county because thats what color everyones skin is
apparently the future is here, and the future is steamed vegetables
the recession isn’t happening in california, or at least on california tv
oh god, the nyc housewives are even worse.
all these people’s kids are mad creepy
this is not helping my stomach ache
why does anyone read the new york post? i had to read it over the weekend and it was horrible! though the word search was fun. though word searches have no place in a newspaper.
i am glad i will be too poor to ever go to the hamptons

random facts about my favorite and the most important american label ever

the first hit on the label was barrett strong’s ‘money (that’s what i want) in 1959
now headquartered in nyc, motown Records is a subsidiary of the universal motown/universal republic group, itself a subsidiary of universal music group
the company was founded by berry gordy who is awesome and played by the equally awesome billy dee williams in ‘the jacksons: american dream’ and ‘the temptations’
motown used a select group of studio musicians known collectively as the funk brothers to play on all motown songs
a good portion of motown songs’ basslines were played with one finger belonging to james jamerson
the name motown is derived from the words ‘motor’ and ‘town’ which are names for detroit, out of which the label is based. and that my friends, is called a portmanteau.
‘i heard it through the grapevine’ and ‘what’s going on’ were originally rejected by berry gordy for production
notable label songwriters once included ashford & simpson, smokey robinson, marvin gaye and stevie wonder
berry gordy would require that artists attend artist development classes to teach them how to think, act, walk and talk like royalty. jr. walker and marvin gaye were exempt from attending classes.
the temptations motown release ’papa was a rolling stone’ was produced by norman whitfield in 1972 and is the greatest song of all time so step off.
